Trend Alert: Paisley and Cobalt Blue

When I think of summer the first thing that comes to mind is bright colors, sunny days and BBQs. Apparently, it also includes cobalt blue as the color of the season. Cobalt blue, I am excited about because it is a color that is bright and can be worn with other bright colors such as green or pink or subdued with black.

I actually have a cobalt blue handbag I got a few years ago that I literally threw everything in when I was going shopping, the beach, church, work, you name it, I wore it but that was years before it was the "in" color to wear.  It is a great color to add some pop in your wardrobe or just a little pick me up on a cloudy day. Seriously, everyone noticed the color when I wore it.

The next trend is Paisley. Hmmmmmmm, when I think of Paisley for some reason I think of Parsley, not sure if its because the design seems similar to herb/seasoning or I am currently hungry for some dinner but either way, paisley plays a part this season in handbags and jewelry. Men have always been in the know with Paisley in their suit jacket pockets and the lining in the inside of the jacket. I honestly can say I do not own anything paisley, or maybe I do and I have not noticed it but I don't think so. It kind of reminds me of old men wearing paisley shirts that smell like moth balls....urrrgghhhhhhh. Maybe if I find a really cute paisley bracelet or scarf, I'll change my mind. I'll let you know ;-)

24 hours, 1 boat, 1 bus, 3 planes and swollen feet...Bangkok

Hey hey!

I'm finally back from my trip to Thailand and I had a blast, I even rode an elephant! It was so much fun finding bargains, negotiating prices and just enjoying the food and culture. I had so much fun I took over 800 pics of my friends and I. It was worth  every hour spent on a plane to get there.

One of my main reasons for going over there, besides learning about a different culture, was to gain some insight into the fashion and lifestyle of the Thai people. Thai people are very fashion forward, especially when it comes to accessories. The country besides tourism is the number one distributor of jewelry such as gold and silver. Additionally, they export rubies, and sapphires and have a phletora of jewelry stores throughout the country. I felt like I was in a candy shop. I was uable to take pictures inside the stores since they do not allow pictures, didn't get what that was about, but I did make some purchases and will take pics and post on the site.

Thailand is also known for its beautiful temples and the grand palace, the former residence of the King. I was able to visit most of the temples and the infamous buddha head in the tree. I posted a few pics of my experience but will be posting pics of my accessory finds and all the food I ate in a few.

XOXO
